This course is designed for veterans, service members, and those preparing to transition who want to better understand how the system works, organize their information, and move forward with clarity. It’s especially valuable for those still in service who want to take control of their records early—building structure from the very beginning instead of waiting until separation or retirement. Your record starts from day one of service, and understanding it early can make a meaningful difference over time.

The course is fully online and self-paced. You can go through the material at your own speed, revisit sections as needed, and follow along in a way that fits your schedule. The lessons are presented through high-quality video guidance using Lesslie Severns’ AI-assisted delivery. Lesslie is an 11-year Coast Guard veteran and co-founder of Veterans SOP (Veterans Standard Operating Procedure).

No prior knowledge is needed. The course is designed to meet you where you are and help you begin understanding the system step by step.

You’ll receive full access to the VSOP course, including step-by-step video lessons and written guidance that supports each section. You’ll also have access to structured modules and a tool guide that walks you through key websites, portals, and resources used to navigate the system. When used within the course, these tools connect you directly to the appropriate websites and portals, creating a seamless and guided experience without having to search on your own. In addition, you’ll receive a full digital book (PDF) designed to help you understand how the system works in a clear and connected way. Each part is designed to help you understand your records, recognize what matters, and move forward with more clarity and confidence.

You’ll have access to the course for 12 months, giving you the flexibility to move at your pace and to the material whenever needed.

There are no live requirements. This is a self-guided course, so you can access everything at any time and move through it at your own pace. If after completing the course you feel you need additional guidance, you can choose to enroll in the VSOP system for an additional cost, where one-on-one support is available.
