Veterans Standard Operating Procedure
The VSOP Process
(Here’s exactly what you can expect — from day one to long-term support.)
VSOP is not just information — it’s a structured, human-centered system built by veterans, for veterans. From the moment you begin, we track your timelines, provide education, and offer personalized support through one-on-one calls, email, and text (in our support tiers).
Whether you choose the self-paced course, full one-on-one guidance, or the upcoming free version, VSOP breaks down the barriers of knowledge and gives you the tools to take control of your VA experience.
This is for every level — because every veteran deserves clarity.
What to Expect: Our Step-by-Step System
Step 1: Intake & System Entry
When you begin your intake, we enter you into the VSOP tracking system. From that point on, we monitor your key VA deadlines — including intent to file, supplemental claim windows, and discharge-related filing dates — to protect your back pay and eligibility.
We collect any documents you already have — not to tell you what’s missing, but to help you understand what you’re already holding. This is about clarity, not control.
You’ll start to see your file with new eyes — and begin making empowered decisions.
Step 2: Medical Records Education & Analysis
Many veterans never get the chance to really see what’s in their own medical record. At VSOP, your records are reviewed by trained professionals — led by a veteran spouse with formal training in medical review and research at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California, one of the most respected institutions in the country.
We don’t guess. We teach you how to read your records, understand what they show, and identify which conditions may be connected to your service.
You’ll also learn the different types of service connection and how they apply to you. Then you decide what to pursue — and we build your plan to support that.
Step 3: 1-on-1 Education Call & Game Plan Creation
Once you’re ready, we schedule a 60–90 minute one-on-one education session (sometimes longer if needed).
During this call, we:
-
Help you understand your records and any VA decision letters
-
Talk through your symptoms, experiences, and service history
-
Answer your questions clearly
-
Create your custom game plan and checklist live on the call, based on your decisions and goals
You are seen, heard, and supported. We don’t tell you what to do — we help you understand what’s possible and build a strategy that reflects you.
Step 4: Document Gathering & Final Evidence Assessment
After your game plan is created, you have up to one year to gather documents, complete appointments, and work through your checklist at your own pace.
During this time, you’ll continue to receive:
-
Automated reminders to keep you on track
-
Ongoing email and text message support (in support tiers)
-
The option to schedule check-in calls if you need extra help
When you’re ready, we schedule your Final Evidence Assessment — a one-on-one session to confirm your file is ready and you’re fully prepared.
During this session, we:
-
Review your checklist and confirm everything is in order
-
Teach you how to use VA.gov and VA tools work
-
Show you how to track your status and download essential VA apps
-
Explain how to communicate with the VA if issues come up
-
Help you understand what to expect from the C&P process ahead
Once complete, you move confidently into exam preparation.
Step 5: Online C&P Exam Training (Workshops + Tools)
Your words at a C&P exam are legally considered evidence. That’s why we prepare you thoroughly.
You’ll receive:
-
Access to online learning: short videos, worksheets, and guides
-
Invitations to C&P Prep Workshops (live or virtual)
-
The option to book one-on-one support if you still have questions
You’ll learn how to describe your symptoms clearly and legally — without downplaying your reality or leaving out what matters.
This is where advocacy becomes confidence.
Step 6: Decision Letter Breakdown
When your decision arrives, we help you break it down line by line.
In this session, we’ll walk you through:
-
Your updated monthly compensation
-
Any awarded Special Monthly Compensation (SMC)
-
The long-term impact on your VA healthcare
-
What this means for your family or caregiver eligibility
-
What benefits and options to explore next
This isn’t just a rating — it’s a moment to understand what has changed, what’s possible, and what your next step should be.
Step 7: Lifetime Support & Continued Education
Once your process is complete and you’ve paid your 10% (agreed upon in your contract), your support doesn’t stop — it deepens.
You’ll receive lifetime access to:
-
Ongoing education and system updates
-
Navigation tools for VA healthcare and Community Care
-
Support around caregiver benefits, dependent planning, and healthcare access
-
Help planning what’s next, like enrolling a spouse as a caregiver, preparing your family for the future, or understanding what to do if something happens to you
-
Continued email and text message support (in support tiers)
You’re not just supported through one filing —
you’re supported for life. And so is your family.
⚖️ What We Don’t Do — and Why That Matters
We do not prepare, present, or prosecute claims before the VA.
That is regulated by law under the GARDAD Act, and we respect that fully.
What we do is teach you:
-
How to read your records and understand your conditions
-
How to protect your back pay and stay ahead of deadlines
-
How to speak with confidence at exams and submit your own claim
-
How to stay empowered in every future interaction with the VA
We are not a replacement for a VSO or attorney — we are the missing link in between:
Education. Tracking. Clarity. Follow-through.
And the truth?
Most veterans who go through VSOP feel empowered enough to do this on their own — because they finally understand the system, and they know how to stand on their own.
